First launch problem

The solution…

As recent versions of macOS have introduced stricter security rules regarding unsigned applications, the following dialogue box may appear the first time you launch MacCafé:

"MacCafé.app" is damaged and

can't be opened.

You should move it to the Trash.

In fact, the app isn’t damaged; it’s simply been quarantined by Gatekeeper.

Here is one possible solution, amongst others, for lifting the quarantine.

  • 1. In the warning dialogue box, do not click ‘Move to Trash’ click ‘Cancel’ instead.

  • 2. Download, install and launch the Sentinel app:

  • 3. Drag and drop the MacCafé.app application into the box labelled « Allow unsigned app to launch ».

MacCafé should then launch automatically. As the quarantine has been lifted, you won’t need to repeat this process… until the next update.
